All our brace and ledge style gates have a 145mm x 45mm thick framework which is glued and screwed together. On softwood doors we use a beaded matchboard, the boards are screwed to the framework and are 20mm thick, all screw holes etc are filled with a good quality wood filler then sanded smooth ready for treatment. Softwood (unsorted redwood) doors will be supplied treated with a base coat of preservative only (further treatment is required).
