Our Traditional style doors can be made in softwood or hardwood, all have a 70mm thick framework with traditional mortice and tenon joints which are glued and screwed for added strength. On softwood doors we use a beaded matchboard and on hardwood we use a 150mm wide 'V' jointed board, the boards are set into the framework and are 20mm thick, again all boards are glued and screwed to the framework. On softwood (unsorted redwood) doors all screw holes etc are filled with a good quality wood filler and hardwood doors use hardwood pellets then sanded smooth ready for treatment. Softwood (unsorted redwood) doors will be supplied treated with a base coat of preservative only (further treatment is required) and hardwood doors are supplied untreated.
